Why is Kahului Airport called Ogg?
In 1957, the Civil Aeronautics Authority, the precursor to the Federal Aviation Administration, gave Kahului Airport the code OGG in honor of Hogg. He retired from Hawaiian Airlines in 1968 and died at the age of 84 in 1992. A video recap of his life can be seen on YouTube.
